Editorial Guidelines

These guidelines apply to every guide, comparison and tool published under Rent-to-Own and Rent-to-Sell on publicsquare.com.au. Last reviewed 25 September 2026.

Who writes our content

Our guides are written by people who work in the business: licensed real estate agents and the representatives who run info sessions, assess properties and manage them through the term. Every article carries a named author with their role and credentials, and links to their profile. We do not publish content under a house byline or a pen name.

Who checks it

Before an article is published, a second named person reads it for accuracy and it carries their name as reviewer. Anything that touches lending, credit or tax is checked by someone with direct professional experience in that area. Where a claim depends on a contract term, the reviewer checks it against the current agreement.

Where the numbers come from

Contract terms — the 50% contribution, the 4% rent-review cap, the minimum resale price floors, the purchase window — are quoted from PublicSquare's own agreements. Property figures come from our published case studies, which are real properties in the program. Market data is cited to its source, such as the Australian Bureau of Statistics, CoreLogic or a state revenue office. Projections are labelled as projections and their assumptions are stated on the page. We do not present a projection as an outcome.

Trade-offs, every time

Any article that explains a PublicSquare product also explains who it does not suit and what the reader gives up. If we cannot write that section honestly, we do not publish the article.

Our commercial interest

PublicSquare earns fees when people use Rent-to-Own or Rent-to-Sell. We say so. We do not accept payment for placement in our guides, we do not publish sponsored content, and we do not use affiliate links.

What we will not publish

• Guaranteed or promised returns, or language that implies them.
• Personal financial, credit or legal advice. Our content is general information only.
• Stock photography presented as our properties. Property photos are of homes in the program.
• Testimonials we cannot attribute to a real client.

How we use AI

We use AI tools to help draft, edit and check our writing. A named person is responsible for every fact and figure that is published, and nothing is published without a human author and a human reviewer having read it in full.

Dates, updates and corrections

Every article shows the date it was published and the date it was last materially updated. We review articles at least once a year, and sooner when a contract term, a fee or a government scheme changes. If we correct an error, we note the correction on the page. To report one, email support@publicsquare.com.au with the article link.
